About DECT Technology
Initially popular in Europe, DECT technology is gaining acceptance
as the emerging standard for cordless phone technology in the United
States as well. In 2005, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission)
relaxed frequency spectrum licensing requirements and costs associated
with the use of DECT products in the U.S., clearing the way for
adoption of the technology and frequency band in the U.S. Cordless
telephones operating in the 1.9 GHz band are suitable for use in
the United States and select non-European countries.
Teledex Opal cordless phones also support multiple remote handsets,
using RediDock, making it even easier than ever to deploy phones
wherever you need them – even where there's no phone jack!

All Teledex cordless guest room phones employ our innovative
single-cord design that combines both power and phone line(s)
into one cable to the phone, eliminating troublesome tangled cord
mess. Your in-room installation is neat and tidy, and much less

- Less Interference
Because DECT operates in the 1.8/1.9 GHz range, it does not interfere
with common wireless (WiFi) devices that operate in the 2.4 GHz
or 5.8 GHz band.

cordless phones operating in other frequency ranges.

Opal RediDock |

Remote Charging Station & Handset
Opal RediDock works with our Opal DECT cordless phones. It's a remote
charging cradle and cordless handset. It does not include base station
electronics, but does mate with the in-room base station. Can be used
in multiple quantities; up to four handsets may be associated with any
one base.
Discount applies when purchasing the RediDock in combination with any
of the Opal DECT Cordless phones. |

Add Handsets to an Opal Cordless Base Station.
RediDock gives you great flexibility in how you deploy multiple handsets
within a guest room, With RediDock, you don't have to install a handset
near a phone jack, or have to install new phone wiring. As long as there
is an accessible AC outlet for the RediDock charger to plug into, you
can put a cordless handset just about anywhere you want.
No External Antennas, So They Won't Break Off.
Teledex Opal Cordless handsets and base stations are designed with no
external antenna, eliminating the risk of breaking an antenna, rendering
a unit unusable. In the demanding hotel environment, where guests can
be rough on your phones, this means you have one less thing to worry about.
Fits Practically Anywhere, Designed to Stay There
RediDock's footprint is tiny, so you can squeeze it in just about
anywhere you need. And yes, we intentionally designed RediDock so the
handset lays flat in its cradle. It might look a little cooler or high-tech
to have the handset standing upright, but our years of experience in the
hotel industry told us that probably wasn't what you need in your guest
rooms. Stand-up configurations make it easier for the handset to get knocked
off its cradle, leading to increased breakage, and more discharged handsets.
